It’s 100% electric and has wings – meet Tesla’s “Model X.”

“it's more for functionality than a minivan and more stylish than an SUV, with more performance than a sports car. So it's just better. Ahhh, there it is, the falcon wing doors as they're called, make things easy, gets the kids in and out..."(Source: ABC 2)

So what else sets it apart from any other luxury SUV? Well, for one, it’s completely electric - the car runs on either a 60 or 80 kilowatt battery. What exactly does that mean? According to MSNBC, its range would be...

“...something on the order of 215 miles for the small pack, 270 for the larger.”

However, what might turn off those potential customers, according to Fox News, is its price.

“Tesla says it will be close to that of the Model S, which costs between $67,400-$105,400 with the same size battery packs. A $57,400 version of the sedan with a 160-mile range is also planned.”

And the California-based company plans on having the Model X on the market in early 2014.  It has all of the features of any other car, including, according to Tech Buffalo...

“Three rows of seating, front-trunk, back trunk. They say it's quicker than a Porche 911 and has more room than an Audi Q-7”

Its falcon wings are as much substance as they are style. Tesla’s CEO shows that...

“You can step into the car... So, I'm 6'1.5"..." (Source: Forbes)

According to Hybrid Cars, that’s not the only enticing aspect.

“The Model X features an all-wheel drive system with electric motors spinning the front and rear wheels independently. According to (Tesla CEO), the AWD system 'is incredibly precise and accurate in its application of power and traction.'”

Tesla’s been making electric cars at their Fremont, California plant since 2010.
