You might get cravings from time to time for a favorite fast food joint... but one British teen’s cravings are constant. Since she was two years old, all 17-year-old Stacey Irvine has eaten are fast-food chicken nuggets.
That’s right. Nothing but the crisp golden nuggets. In fact, Irvine -- who favors McDonald’s offerings -- told the Daily Mail she’s never eaten vegetables!
Her poor diet is taking a toll though... Irvine went to the hospital earlier this week when she collapsed and struggled to breathe.
On Fox News’ Red Eye, the group wonders how Irvine’s parents allowed the Mc-addiction to go on for so long.
“Where are the parents? How do you go from 2, how are you addicted from 2 years old? It’s like that whole age up to 18 your parents are going to be like this, “no, you’re not eating nuggets.’”
“You kind of have to blame the parents at first, but now she’s an adult and you hope that they can instill the good habits.”
Irvine’s mom told the Daily Mail her two other children both eat healthily and that she has tried completely depriving her daughter of food to force her to eat something besides nuggets .... to no avail. The Daily Mail quoted the mom ...
“She’s been told in no uncertain terms that she will die if she carries on like this ... But Stacey says she can’t eat anything else... I am at my wit’s end. I’m praying she can be helped before it’s too late.”
Irvine is home after that collapse and on a high-dosage of vitamins. She has anemia and inflamed veins on her tongue. A writer for Care2 breaks-down Irvine’s dangerous favorite meal -- eight nuggets and fries.
“...that one meal serves up 54% of her fat allowance and 37% of her sodium allowance. If she dips her nuggets or fries into some sort of sauce, she takes in more fat and salt with that one serving than a healthy diet would include in a full day.”
Irvine told the Daily Mail she’s starting to realize her beloved nuggets are bad for her, but says she just can’t give up the fast food.
