They already have a magazine -- and coming soon -- a TV show.

Hollywood Tea Partiers are premiering a new one-hour drama called “Courage, New Hampshire” -- at a California theater Sunday. Here’s a sneak peak.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Paul Bond wrote a lengthy and widely re-posted review of the show and reports...

“Courage has the pacing and feel of a soap opera, though its set in Colonial America. While its creators are making it as a TV show, there’s no distribution partner, so it’s going straight to DVD after the premiere. The company, Colony Bay, is also trying to strike deals with conservative online TV outlets, like Glenn Beck’s GBTV and Kelsey Grammer’s Right Network...”

The series’ first episode is about a woman who accuses a British solder of fathering her child with no intent to help care for it. The formal charge? “Bastardy.” On its website, the production company says -- Americans need to hear more stories about the country’s founding.

“They were a sturdy lot of men and women who dreamed of a city built on a hill. Their struggle to create that city and to sustain a republic dedicated to the rare notion of individual freedom and ‘unalienable rights’ has outlived them, but there’s a side of their story we don’t often study: what made them strong enough to fight?”

As for its potential to succeed -- the blog HyperVocal isn’t completely convinced.

“Shows that pander to a political point of view don’t really have a good track record with connecting to a broader audience. ... [T]he conservative creative class — take a look at ‘liberal’ Hollywood and feel like they have to swing in the other direction as a counter-balance. But in doing so, then tend to over-swing and turn out really low-quality productions that no normal person would ever want to watch.”

The show’s founders promise the series will - quote - “reflect the diversity of the Tea Party movement.”
