Want one? Better be willing to shell out $300 bucks.
That’s after the $50 mail in rebate and a two year contract agreement.
ZD Net wonders...
“...with the sky-high launch price...will large companies in this uncertain economic climate be willing to pay a premium for the 4G BlackBerry for its employees?”
And SlashGear chimes in...
“At that level, unless you’re determined to use BlackBerry 7...we can’t see many opting for the Bold instead of an iPhone 4 or Android device.”
Overall-- a hefty price tag for the device RIM started making in 1999. But a writer for the Clarion Ledger predicts-- regardless of price-- 4G will give Blackberry back some flavor.
“While it was the smartphone of choice for executives and enterprise users for quite awhile,it has been challenged first by Apple's iPhone and now Google's Android devices...With a fast 4G network and good functionality, BlackBerries might regain some traction.”
A boost for Blackberries-- but what about for T-Mobile? CNET reports...
“...it's likely that the carrier was jolted into action by the announcements from its rivals. AT&T has committed to the Bold 9900, as well ,and Sprint will join Verizon in offering the CDMA version, the Bold 9930.”
RIM boasts this is the slimmest Blackberry to date.
