Evan ThomasA 17-year-old high school student suspected of injuring two other teenagers in a Philadelphia high school shooting Friday has turned himself in, according to police.
WPVI-TV cites local police, who say Raisheem Rochwell's actions were caught on surveillance video.
"Police say Rochwell fired off a shot in the school gym. The bullet went through the arm of a 18-year old girl, and into the shoulder of a 17-year-old boy."
Rochwell, accompanied by his attorney and his father, turned himself in at Philadelphia's 35th district police station. But WCAU reports Rochwell’s attorney says he isn't at fault for the shooting.
Prosecutors have charged Rochwell as an adult. According to CNN, he faces charges including aggravated assault and violation of Pennsylvania’s Uniform Firearms Act. Bail is set at $500,000.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports a second 16-year-old suspect also turned himself in, but has not been named or charged in connection with the shooting.
According to WPVI's report, the 18-year-old female victim has been released from the hospital. The 17-year-old boy remains in the hospital in good condition.
