Got a big secret and can’t hold it in any longer? A new poll says be careful before dishing out the juicy details to a gal pal.

KPLR has more details on the poll results from skincare company, Simple.

Reporter: “The clock is ticking when it comes to keeping a secret. According to researchers, women can’t wait more than 32 to minutes before spilling the beans.

Woman: “Not in my case...mmhmm.”

The survey involved a poll of 3,000 British women. The results? One in ten of those women admit they can’t keep their lips sealed-- and a whopping 85% of those surveyed say they thrive on hearing the latest gossip.

A self-proclaimed avid gossiper and writer for Death and Taxes Magazine says-- 32 minutes seems a little low.

“I live at least a 32-minute train ride away from all of my friends and co-workers, so spilling their most cherished secrets in that amount of time would involve me excusing myself to the bathroom to send an email, text or tweet... In other words, I would have to be a complete sociopath.”

But what about the guys? Dr. Nancy Synderman battled it out with Star Jones on NBC’s Today show-- arguing studies like this perpetuate sexism.

“I actually believe that. I think that women are the biggest gossips. We will share anything. Most of my good friends...”

“I think you are full of it. I mean...stop!”

“I mean I can say these things because I’m a vault. But I gotta tell you my girlfriends are broke refrigerators; they can’t keep a secret.

“If you told me something and said don’t tell it, that’s it.”

To that-- The Daily Mail quotes one researcher suggesting--guy or gal--  it all depends on how many beans there are to spill.

“We are all guilty of sharing people’s secrets but there is a difference between idle chit-chat and sharing someone’s most sacred secret.”

The most common topics women just can’t seem to keep to themselves? According to the poll-- relationships and plastic surgery.
