A study conducted in the U.S. has found men engaging in affairs are more likely to sustain sex-related injuries -- more specifically -- a “broken penis.” Live Science has a quote from the study’s author Dr. Andrew Kramer saying...
“Sex outside marriage, and sex that occurs under out-of-the-norm circumstances, may increase the risk of penile fractures...”
San Diego’s KNSD has more.
“...especially in places like restrooms, cars or elevators were more likely to experience tears and painful cuts -- can I actually say this on TV -- because the sex was rushed and usually involved awkward positions. However, only three patients who experienced what researchers called a, quote, their words, broken penis, were having sex with their wives in their bedrooms.”
The numbers are quite staggering. The Sydney Morning Herald reports...
“Nearly 70 per cent of the men said the encounter had occurred in an unusual venue, with the most common places being at work or in public bathrooms.”
Finally, a writer for Gather asks the looming question:
“Is this karma's way of evening the odds? How embarrassing this must feel to have to tell the story of what happened to the physician, not to mention your girlfriend or wife that you were cheating on.”
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, penile fractures -- if left untreated -- can lead to erectile dysfunction.
