Square Sets IPO Lower Than We Expected

On Thursday, Square began trading on the New York Stock Exchange. The company's IPO was lower than what it announced earlier this month.

E-commerce startup Square set its IPO price at $9, down from the price it promoted earlier this month: $11 to $13.

That's also far less than a $6 billion private valuation from a year ago.

But at prices this low, the stock has a lot of room to go up.

Square is listed on the NYSE under the ticker symbol SQ.
