Out of the way smartphones, smartwatches are taking over tech! Here's two minutes of smartwatch news.

The latest additions to the market include devices from LG and Samsung; and the rumors persist about an eventual entry from Apple.

Just announced is the LG G Watch R — the company says it's the "first watch-style wearable device to feature a circular plastic OLED display and utilizes 100 percent of its watch face." (Video via LG)

The smartwatch features a seemingly standard 4GB of internal memory and packs in a fairly powerful battery when compared to others on the market. LG is also touting the device's heart-rate monitor. Fitness!

We're also now hearing about the Samsung Gear S. The company addressed one of the main complaints of it smartwatch customers — Samsung's Galaxy Gear smartwatch relied too heavily on a smartphone for functionality. (Video via Samsung)

The Gear S responds to consumer complaints about cellular connectivity built in to the device. Samsung says you'll be able to reply to messages, place calls, and use its voice recognition technology all from the Gear S, without the need for a consistent connection to a smartphone.

It has that same 4GB of internal memory, but its battery isn't quite as powerful as the LG G Watch R. It also features a heart-rate monitor, and can even measure UV light.

And in honor of that I'm now wearing sunglasses.
Last is Apple's ever-rumored smartwatch. The media has taken to calling it the iWatch, but we won't really have a name until it's announced by the Cupertino company.

According to a report by Re/code, Apple will announce its wearable device at the rumored September 9 press event. That also happens to be the event where the company is expected to announce its latest round of smartphones.

As far as the iWatch goes, we've gone into great detail rounding up the rumors in this video, so we'll encourage you to check it out for all the juicy details.

LG's watch will be available in the fourth quarter of 2014, Samsung's is coming in October, and Apple's iWatch — who knows? LG G Watch R, Samsung Gear S or the reported Apple iWatch — which one are you most likely to buy? Tweet us with your thoughts.
