Remember when Sony got sued? And then sued again? And again?
Well—that won’t be happening anymore—at least that’s if the company get its way.
“Now their terms of use, if you use the PSN, they’re basically saying, ‘you can’t sue us!’—in a class action suit. You can sue them individually but they’re basically saying you can’t do that anymore. What’s interesting is there’s also a term in the saying if a court finds this clause illegal- you still can’t do it. So Sony’s making up laws--good for them.”

It’s called “Section 15” and Sony didn’t even announce the change, according to a blogger for The New York Times. It just sorta stuck it in the 10,869-word agreement.
But not to worry-- a rep for the company tells CNET-- it’s in every one's best interest.
So it’s either—don’t sue, or don’t play. Users can just quit if they don’t feel comfortable with the corporation—right? PC World says—it’s not that easy, and Sony knows it.
“…you could always quit Sony…like that’ll happen. Over 77 million PSN members worldwide, each with hundreds (perhaps thousands) of dollars invested in the PlayStation 3? Don’t bet on the quitting strategy as a means of communicating consumer ire upstream…and that, frankly, is exactly what Sony’s counting on.”
The Inquirer says-- Sony still offers a way to skip out on the agreement. You just have to send ‘em a letter within 30 days, snail-mail style.
