Shaquille O’Neal has already started controversy on his first day as a Turner Sports NBA analyst.
Yahoo Sports has the video of Shaq snubs Miami’s Chris Bosh.
“You know they got a lot of great players, you know the Big 2 they will be back”,
“Woah hold up did he just say the big two huh”
“Shaq I heard you say the big two I thought it was the Big Three in Miami is there not a big three in Miami in your opinion.?”
“Listen your already trying to start up and the season ain’t even here yet. The big two Dwayne Wade, Lebron James.”
ESPN’S Skip Bayless says Shaq’s comments were quote- “out of bounds.”
“Clearly, that’s not what Shaq meant as you said Dana and which is why its out of bounds just because of Chris’s playoff performance it was consistently to me better than Lebron’s. Especially, in the finals he averaged nineteen and nine for the whole playoff run. I’m just hoping that as a commentator Shaquille O’Neal doesn’t just pick on cliched easy targets.”
And a writer for Ball Junkie takes issue with another part of Shaq’s comments -- that Wade and James make up quote- “the greatest back-court ever assembled.”
“...isn’t Shaq supposed to be an analyst?? So shouldn’t he know that back-court consists of a point guard and shooting guard? And last time I checked… Lebron was neither. He’s a small forward. So how can he and Wade be ‘the greatest back-court ever assembled’ when they’re not even a back-court to begin with???
But Shaq isn’t the only one who feels Bosh isn’t a big factor in Miami. A Bleacher Report contributor writes...
“...throughout the soap opera of a season the Heat experienced, it became clear that Bosh was the third wheel. He had solid numbers but averaged seven points less than either LeBron and Wade. ...Bosh isn't in the same stratosphere as his two super-star teammates.”
