Stop me if you’ve heard this one before -- A celebrity’s nude photos have been leaked on the internet. This time it’s mega-star Scarlett Johansson -- and it appears she’s part of a bigger operation. ABC News has the story.
“The 26-year-old star appears to be the latest victim of a celebrity phone hacking scandal. The hacker group also posted this ominous notice on YouTube. ‘Attention Hollywood, we are anonymous. We do not forgive -- we do not forget.’ The list of celebrity victims, according to TMZ, is now close to fifty people.”
Johansson’s camp confirmed the photos are of her -- but the star isn’t taking this lying down. Fox News reports authorities are on the case -- and that maybe the situation could have been avoided.
“But even as celebrities call in the feds, some are taking matters into their own hands -- threatening to sue any website that posts these pictures online. Or maybe they could stop taking these pictures altogether, John, I don’t know.”
Interested in seeing the racy photos? Not so fast -- CBS News reports you might not find what you’re looking for.
“Cybercriminals are often using the names of stars that online surfers are searching for. As a result, anyone looking for the latest videos or pictures of said famous folks could end up with malware-ridden computer instead of the content they're trying to find. Yikes!”
The hosts on TMZ Live debate whether celebrities should be held to a different standard when it comes to nude photos.
“They do what a lot of people do. They send people they’re involved with photos and things like that. Yeah, it’s not uncommon for people to do it.”
“It’s not uncommon, it’s just that when you’re to that point, it’s a whole ‘nother level.”
Celebrity gossip web site “Perez Hilton” says the FBI is narrowing in on the crooks.
“They have the identity of the ringleader and now they're just tying up all the loose ends before they swoop in. How funny would it be if it turned out to be someone we all knew…like Mark Zuckerberg???”
Other celebrities rumored to have been targeted by the hackers include: Jessica Alba, Mila Kunis, Justin Timberlake, Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus.
