Sarah Palin made her comedic debut with a stand-up routine on NBC's "The Tonight Show". Her delivery and choice of jokes has the media giving their one-liners on her comedic prowess.
"It is so beautiful here though, so warm and beautiful. Back home, it was freezing. It was five degrees below Congress's approval rating."
"And how about that amazing closing ceremony, it was beautiful. The minute I saw the giant moose, I remembered, hadn't cooked anything for the kid's dinner."
"The truth is though, I'm glad that I'm not Vice President. I'm glad because I would not know what to do with all that free time."
ABC's The View applauded Palin's ability to deliver.
"The thing that fascinates me about her, is her confidence as a stand-up. It took me so long to get that confidence. It's the same confidence that she has that she thinks she can be president. It’s almost delusional. You know, I find it fantastic to watch that.
MSNBC points out how the setting was a big help to Palin.
Joe: "Critiques knock her down but my gosh this women, when she is comfortable in front of a camera can hold an audience better than anybody."
John Ziegler: "No question about that Joe and this is especially positive for her when she's not being edited by people who are dead set on her destruction because of either political or financial agendas. And obviously when she's essentially live on "The Tonight Show", in front of Jay Leno who's pretty fair to her, she's going to come across very well. And I thought she was outstanding. If she hadn't already been destroyed by the news media, she'd be in great shape."
Fox News says media audiences have always been skeptical of Palin, but this time was different.
Gretchen Carlson: "The crowd was very receptive to Sarah Palin. But you don't always know what kind of crowd reception you're going to get when you're Sarah Palin. The other thing I'd point out from a women’s point of view is she wore her hair up again. And that's very interesting to me because she hasn't been doing that recently."
Brian Kilmeade: "What does that mean when a woman leaves her hair up?"
Gretchen Carlson: "I don't know but that was her campaign hair style."
But a Huffington Post article says Palin got away with more than she should have.
"Neither her host nor the dreaded MSM called her on a bold-faced lie she uttered in the middle of her cozy tete-a-tete with the newly recycled Leno."
"Palin, of course, has made a career out of playing the victim, and she went into the act once again with Leno."
