“It’s kind of a sad story out of Hollywood – Sandra Bullock’s husband reportedly cheated on her. This woman, Michelle McGee…She claims that she had an affair with Jesse James for more than a month. She tells InTouch Magazine she started the affair after emailing James about a job at his motorcycle shop.”
The headline writes itself: Sandra Bullock has been blind-sided. Now, Bullock has pulled out of the U.K. premiere of "The Blind Side", the film she just won a Best Actress Oscar for, and reportedly has moved out of her home with James.
Some outlets are saying that James’ affair with McGee happened while Bullock was filming "The Blind Side". It seems that, ironically, the movie that made Bullock America’s new sweetheart was also the one that made her personal life fall apart.
ABC News says Bullock has fallen victim to a curse.
“Bullock now joins a long list of Best Actress winners whose love life crashed after taking home the Oscar. From Kate Winslet to Hillary Swank, Charlize Theron and more, the Hollywood ending has been the big split.”
MSNBC showed sympathy for the situation.
“Courtney Hazlett: Indeed a sad story if this turns out to be true.
Sure hope it does not. She’s had a dream year.
Hazlett: A dream year. You would hate to see it happen like this.
And she thanked her husband for showing her love.
Hazlett: Time and again. Time and again.”
But others have not been so kind. RadarOnline got an interview with Michelle McGee’s former boss, who says James told McGee that his marriage was a sham.
“She told me that she and Jesse were together... this was around May 2009, or just prior to that … She told me that Jesse’s marriage to Sandra Bullock was for publicity.”
And The Daily Telegraph used Bullock’s own words against her. Features Editor Michael Deacon quotes Bullock from 2005.
“she said…: “Why is marriage the pinnacle for everyone?…We need to start looking at different packages, whether it’s living together, or being with six partners, or dedicating your life to taking care of flowers.” …That “taking care of flowers” option must be looking attractive.”
In The San Francisco Chornicle, blogger Zenophon Abraham is also taking a closer look at the past, but this time at Bullock’s Oscar acceptance. He thinks Bullock wasn’t all that blind to the situation.
“…as she gets up to walk to the stage…Bullock and James do not kiss; instead she shoots a look at him, then gets up without hugging him. Just a guess, but this blogger's feeling is something was up, even then”
So was the marriage make-believe, or should there be sympathy for Sandra?
