The sudden death of singer, Amy Winehouse, left fans heartbroken and wanting more. Now they may get it. Hollyscoop has the details.
“Right before her death Amy was working on new material for her third album but now that she’s passed those unreleased tracks may see the light of day earlier than expected. Amy has been working on material for two years now working with producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi apparently there’s a ton of unreleased material and they’re all really impressive.”
The decision to release a third album rests in the hands of Amy’s parents who now hold the rights to all of their daughter’s unreleased music. The Telegraph spoke with experts who say...
“... [a third album] is expected to outsell ‘Back To Black's’ five million copies. Industry experts described Winehouse as a true talent and said there would be huge demand for a posthumous album.”
The Guardian reports-- a source close to Winehouse’s management thinks there is enough material for more than one record.
"’Amy was a writer, she was always writing songs. She had studios at home and would create demos...They need to sit down with a producer and shake them into tracks.’”
But even without a third album-- Winehouse’s record sales have skyrocketed. CNN has the numbers.
“Amy Winehouse’s music is flying off the shelves following her untimely death last week. Sales of her album reached 50,000 in the latest sales cycle according to Nielsen Soundscan. Winehouse’s 2007 album ‘Back to Black’ which contains the single, ‘Rehab,’ sold 37,000 copies alone.”
As of right now no decisions have been made regarding the unreleased music.
