If you have a romantic rendezvous with baseball stud Derek Jeter-- you might end up with a prize in your cab the next morning. The Daily Mail reports on a rumor from the New York Post that Derek Jeter is pretty much over his latest divorce.
“Derek Jeter has been playing the field since his split with actress Minka Kelly...sending his hook-ups home with a treasure trove of signed gear.”
According to the New York Post, the pro ballplayer made a rookie mistake this summer when he made the same move on the same girl twice.
“This summer, he ended up hooking up with a girl who he had hooked up with once before, but Jeter seemed to have forgotten about the first time and gave her the same identical parting gift, a gift basket with a signed Derek Jeter baseball...”
How did the media catch wind of the supposed morning-after memorabilia? The Post spoke to an unnamed “pal” who broke the story. A writer for Death and Taxes says regardless it’s a victory for Jeter fans and haters...
“Finally, New York City’s least reputable and reliable newspaper, “The New York Post,” has uncovered a hilarious tidbit concerning Jeter’s bedside manner...Yankees fans can high-five their pals, congratulating themselves on their infallible captain’s sexual conquests. Fans of every other team finally have evidence to support their preconceived notions of Jeter’s previously non-existent classlessness...Everybody wins.”
But is the parting gift all that bad? Your Tango reports-- baseballs for booty might not be such a bad deal.
“What a way to get caught! That's actually kind of hilarious — and now the girl can make a couple hundred, maybe even thousands of dollars selling her free parting gifts on the Internet. That's a pretty lucky way to get booted out the door the morning after, if you ask us.”
No word on just how many of those special balls are in circulation- if any. But Jeter is set to appear as a part of Barbara Walters’ 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011 TV special Wednesday night. Maybe she can squeeze a number out of him.
