Senator Edward "Ted" Kennedy died of brain cancer Tuesday night. Much of his life was in the public eye, some good and some bad. How will he be remembered?

For everyone who thinks that Teddy Kennedy should have served time for the Kopekne incident, let me remind you, that Laura Bush killed someone, while behind the wheel. Reagan put many people to their deaths when he wouldn't fund AIDS research, and called it a "Gay Cancer." And Governor Bush killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi citizens with his stupid war!

For those who continue only want to rehash the Mary Jo incident, you have to ask yourself this: Have you made as much a difference in the lives of everyday people as Senator Kennedy did?
Yes, the incident was horrible and nobody knew better than he, how irresponsible his actions were. He was haunted by it every day of his life. And, yet, he forged onward to be a voice in Congress for those less fortunate. Look inward, weight it all out, and ask yourself "what have I done today and every day to make a positive difference in the world?"

To Ted, rest in peace. I can't believe you died :( I wanted to meet you and would have told you that your brothers would have been proud of you. Know that now you're reunited with them! You do sort of look like John which is good considering we missed him down here too. To me you're always a President and you're one of the best Senators ever. We love you Ted Kennedy!

Remembering my first "encounter" with government in the US as a recent immigrant in 1978 - testifying for the US Congress at the invitation of Ted Kennedy because I knew stuff (agricultural development assistance in agriculture in the Third World). Never would have happened where I came from (Northern Ireland, UK) - no matter what the education/experience. Won my heart, became a citizen, love our country.

Not too rambling or sappy, good general look at Ted Kennedy's life. I applaud his strength despite struggling against cancer and wonder how deeply his presence really affected the Obama campaign?

That was a nice, balanced view of the life of... I'm sorry, Charlotte, but you look so smoking hot in that tight ponytail. It's really distracting in a pleasant way. Uh, what was I saying? Oh. yes, Kennedy...

My thoughts on his legacy and the hypocritical way he's been trashed by the right wing can be found here:

I cannot mourn the loss of a man who allowed a woman to drown
in his car and not report the accident for nine hours.

He will always be remembered as one of the last politicians for the people. I and many others always thought that one day he would be president, he certainly would have recieved many many votes. We still one day might see another kennedy president as we should to forfill the camelot dream that was never realized...alas he is gone but like his brothers before him will never be forgotten for their superb public service....rest in peace brave lion..,rest in peace with all of your family and rest assured the dreams of all three of you will live on in the peoples hearts.....

Kennedy's record is astounding, he was a devoted public servant throughout his tenure. He was a strategic political mind. Kennedy was a lifelong advocate for health care reform and issues of social justice.
