Rapper Rick Ross had a rough start to his weekend. He was on his way to perform at University of Memphis’s Memphis Madness when things...well, went dark. Here’s WPLG.
“Ross was taking off of a Delta Airlines flight at Ft. Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport where he reportedly suffered a seizure. He was taken to Broward-General for treatment but he was later released.”
So, after he was later released--like a champ--he jumped back on a second plane to Memphis to perform as promised. TMZ tells it like this:
“Rick Ross' private jet made an emergency landing in Birmingham, Alabama ... en route to his concert in Memphis ... and we found out he suffered another seizure...It's the second time today where a plane in which the rapper was a passenger made an emergency landing.”
After the news first broke Friday, it seems some of the facts got lost. Did he really have a seizure? Was CPR involved?
One headline even read: Rick Ross Dead or Alive?
A writer for TIME, confused with the inconsistencies says...
“The health scare was initially reported as a seizure that rendered him unconscious, though later accounts say that the rapper was breathing and conscious ...TMZ reported that the Ross received CPR, but Mike Jachles, a spokesman for Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue, said that he received only ‘advanced life-support care’ that didn't include CPR.”
After hearing reports of the rapper’s situation--those rooting for Ross spoke out Saturday to MTV.
BIRDMAN: “Ross is a friend of the family. I sure hope he’s all right, you know. We pray for him”
MINAJ: “We actually been talking about him and praying for him on the trailer because he’s such a crucial part of hip-hop right now and we’re just hoping he’s healthy.”
Yo Gotti performed solo at Memphis Madness Friday night.
