A giant rally took place in the Gaza Strip—no, not for protest but for celebrations. Here’s KGTV.

“Thousands of Palestinians are in Gaza, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Hamas militant group. there is a huge there is a huge crowd, some of them flashing victory signs, at the rally in Victory City.”

Over 200,000 people gathered in front of a large stage that had a 9-meter long mock-up rocket. Xinhua tells us what else was seen in the crowd.

“Despite the rain in the morning, Palestinians waving green and Palestinian flags and wearing headbands flocked in their dozens to al-Katiba square in western Gaza City, where the rally was held.”

One of the speakers at the rally included a face people hadn’t seen in about 45 years. Here’s Sky News.

“The Hamas leader Khalid Meshaal has been given a hero's welcome in Gaza. It is his first time he has set foot in the territory after decades of exile.”

After 45 years of exile, Meshaal had a lot to say. Here’s the BBC with some of his speech.

“He told the expectant crowd that he rejects any territorial concessions with Israel and any recognition of the Jewish state of correspondence.”

The leaders hostility comes from a conflict after Israel attacked the Gaza Strip on November, 14th.
