I'm inclined to agree with meghank. I think Cheney is talking much more about Cheney and less about country, party, right/wrong, etc., despite the words he uses.

The only reason why Cheney is speaking is to promote his book. I don't have much sympathy for his argument about hushing up dissenters - by not even acknowledging dissenters he was able to wield an incredible amount of power. Too bad no one asked him about his views on gay marriage.

Cheney 2012? I thought he was already served 2 terms... I agree with apple2k Obama is getting a free pass on everything a little friendly competition wont hurt. I think Cheney just wants to stay relevant, he wants to stay a part of the political in-group an eventually become party leader of sorts.

Did Cheney ever do Face the Nation when he was VP? 8 years and you barely hear from him now he's on the record setting things straight? Seems off to me. But with that said, I actually kind of agree with Rush Limbaugh...eww that felt gross...the thing to do right now is to pan anybody with any kind of right leaning ideas. Obama is getting such a pass that anybody who points out he hasn't done the great job people thought is made into the enemy.

That's strange. For eight years, I had been under the impression that Cheney liked to hush dissenters up as well.
