Vinny Guadagnino trades in the shore for sociology. The MTV star was invited to guest lecture at Columbia University in Professor Diane Vaughn’s class, ‘Mistake, Misconduct and Disaster’.
Here’s how TMZ reported it.
But students from the class blogged on Columbia’s undergraduate magazine saying they aren’t too happy with TMZ’s report. They say no one in the class accused Vinny of “interrupting” them. In fact, he was an invited guest.
“Don’t believe everything you read courtesy of TMZ, people. I’m in the class … the quote is not accurate, and those words were never used. The question was more along the lines of, don’t you think it is ironic that someone from Jersey Shore is a spokesperson for anti-bullying ... are you trying to change the culture among your fellow cast members ... to set a good example for the kids that watch the show and network?”
Although he might find himself fighting off the females in the club now, the shore star wasn’t always so smooth. He opened up to MTV about his struggles in school.
Vin didn’t give the students advice on how to maximise your GTL. But the Gothamist reports he did manage to fit in some shore humour-- telling the students:
“Don’t ask about me and Snooki in bed!”
To which Gothamist advises...
“Maybe don't give up that day job, Vinny.”
After his brush with academia, Vinny can safely return to fist pumping in the clubs. CBS says the fifth season of Jersey Shore premieres on January 5th. This time, the cast is headed back to Seaside Heights.
