Need a hug? … Well, one New York woman has a deal for you. Jackie Samuel, a 29-year-old woman, is offering professional cuddles for $60 per hour! CNN has this report:

“The 29-year-old U of R grad says her clients are looking for relaxation and physical comfort. ‘This is not about sex and I am really straight-forward about that.’”

Samuel says she’s a skilled cuddler. She opened the doors of her Rochester home in New York for anyone seeking affection; but also in order to pay for her studies and her young son’s needs.

The young woman started her website, the Snuggery, a month ago. Under the slogan of ‘Take a break. Have a snuggle’, she promotes the “healing power of touch … Though science has unquestionably supported the psychological and physical benefits of non-sexual touch, Americans distinctly lack it. It's time for change.”

Interviewed by The Huffington Post, Samuel talks about the diversity of her clients.

“Some of my older clients, their wives have passed away, and they just need someone to be with (...) Some of the younger clients are between relationships, some are in problematic relationships, and some people are just really curious”

And her business seems to be pretty profitable: making up to $260 a day and receiving up to 30 different men - and sometimes women - per week, Samuel has recruited a second cuddler. They are now proposing joined ‘double cuddles’.

Samuel says she has faced some negative reactions — she’s been called a prostitute by some and has even been threatened with expulsion from her university.
