It was no gentlemen's quarrel as two retired Catholic priests reportedly got a little hot under the collar—over a parking space.

News.com reoprts Father Thomas Henry Byrne and Father Thomas Joseph Cameron Smith got into a bitter brawl that had Mike-Tyson-like results.

“...after the brawl Father Byrne told Father Smith to pick up an item up on the ground. It was not until Father Smith returned to his unit that he realised the item he had picked up and put in his pocket was his right ear.”

(AOC)
Father Smith went to the hospital for surgery shortly after realizing he didn’t have his ear in its rightful place, but the Daily Mail reports the retired clergyman didn’t let his opponent get away clean either.

“It appeared that Father Byrne had also suffered a bruising in the alleged fight. When he appeared in... Court he sported a black eye. Police prosecutor Chris Lawler said Father Byrne did not have a police record but he had concerns for the safety of the victim if bail was approved.”

But it doesn’t look like the two men of the cloth will be squaring off anytime soon. Father Byrne was reportedly released on strict bail conditions not to go within 10 meters of Father Smith, or communicate with him in anyway. He is due in court again on December 7th for further legal advice.
