Nioncom is finally closing in on the release date for its pico projector-equipped mini tablet-- the MemoryKick Vision. TechCrunch has the specs.
“NionCom’s MemoryKick Vision tablet comes equipped with a PicoP projector, so users can share documents, web sites, videos (pretty much anything that the tablet displays) by projecting it in large format on a wall or a projection screen.”
The gadget boasts a big memory capacity-- and can project the tablet’s display, enlarged up to 100 inches. A TechCrunch blogger says- this device may solve a problem that plagues the tablet industry.
“The more power you have packed into a device, the clunkier it usually is....With mini-tablets, portability costs you screen size, which means a group experience is out of the question...”
But the Vision is not the first mobile device to incorporate a projector into its hardware. The Samsung Galaxy Beam also has one - and has been on the market since last summer
Of course, the Vision will have to compete with regular-sized tablets as well-- like the iPad. Picopros co-founder, Paul Marganski says the Vision might have the edge here.
“You can get the highest-capacity MemoryKick™ Si for around $430...I can't really comment too much on why they can price it so competitively, at this point. You should be happy that they can get something so compelling on the market for MUCH less than a 64GB iPad ...The Vision™ has MORE features than the iPad, by far, and 15X as much memory for much less $$.”
The Nioncom MemoryKick Vision tablet is set to hit shelves later this year.
