He was a person of interest in the 2009 disappearance of his wife — he’s accused of murdering his two young son s— and now — he’s making headlines again.
Authorities have revealed incestuous images found on Josh Powell’s computer led to a doctor-ordered psychosexual evaluation... one the media is suggesting was a motivating factor in last week’s murder suicide. (VIDEO SOURCE: MSNBC)
LESTER HOLT: “Those computer images we’re talking about apparently led to this order for Josh to undergo a psychosexual evaluation, and that would’ve included a lie detector test.”

According to ABC’s Colleen Curry and Chris Cuomo, this wasn’t a recent discovery.
“The computer was taken by police following the 2009 disappearance of... Susan Cox, but the images were brought up for the first time publicly in a court custody hearing last week."
Now many in the media are speculating — would this story have ended differently if the images had been revealed sooner? CBS reports...
“Attorney Steve Downing said if he [had] seen them, he might have asked the court to change the terms of Powell's supervised visitation with the boys.”
Powell was allowed bi-weekly supervised visits with his sons even though a judge had denied him custody during a February first hearing. New details have emerged about the final visit. In an exclusive interview, ABC learned...
The social worker responsible for dropping the boys off for Powell’s scheduled visitation says Powell told the boy’s he had a “surprise” for them just minutes before the explosion.
And while the investigation continues, the Examiner reports...
“Washington State Senator Pam Roach (R) said it was ‘outrageous’ that the court granted Josh Powell visitation with his sons and is asking to see what West Valley City Police shared with the Washington agency in charge of child welfare.”
Police are still investigating the disappearance of Susan Powell.
