piezoelectricity sounds amazing, I have never heard of that before. It seems like the media has picked a few alternative energy options to discuss and have ignored the rest. Furthermore, it seems like alternative energy stories still have this weird conditional tone. Options are presented as things that may happen one day, that they are a future endeavors rather than viable, actionable options. Almost as if they are holding off the debate rather than exploring the merits of individual options.

I am in huge favor of finding alternative methods for energy, allowing us to save resources, and make the environment a better place to live. It's the little things that we can do now, that will make a difference for the future generations to come. I know that people get tired of hearing about saving the environment for our children and their children and so on, but let's not be selfish.
I am not asking for everyone to put expensive solar panels on their roof-tops, but it would be nice if people stopped wasting water, turned off lights when not in the room, and cut back on plastic water bottles. It is the simple things that if everyone worked harder at, that would go a long way. It's simple consideration for the future.

As far as the journalist coverage, I think there could be more coverage. Less pessimistic views and more optimism. It's all about getting people to jump on the band wagon, and before you know it... everything will be energy efficient!
