Penn. Newlyweds Ordered To Stand Trial For Murder

A married couple in Pennsylvania that allegedly murdered a man for fun was ordered Friday to stand trial on charges of homicide, conspiracy and robbery.

Elliot and Miranda Barbour reportedly used Craigslist to find their victim. Authorities say Miranda offered companionship for money to lure 42-year-old Troy LaFerrara. (Via WBRE)

“Police say Miranda stabbed LaFerrara in the front seat of her car while her husband held a cord around his neck. The newlyweds told investigators they just wanted to kill someone together to see what it would feel like.” (Via WHP-TV)

“LaFerrara’s body was found in a backyard in Sunbury on Canawasa avenue last month with multiple stab wounds. On Tuesday, police made their first arrest in this case charging Elliot’s 18-year-old wife Miranda with homicide.” (Via ABC)

Officials connected the Barbours to the murder after tracking phone records and finding Miranda was the last one to contact LaFerrara. (Via The Daily Item)

New York Daily News reports after the murder, Miranda allegedly went to buy cleaning supplies to clean the car and then later went out to dinner with her husband.

Both Elliot and Miranda are being held without bail.
