An outspoken televangelist is making headlines again. Pat Robertson -- the host of The 700 Club -- is again in hot water for his suggestion to a viewer.  According to the Daily Mail, during a Monday night segment Robertson answered this question from a man named “Michael”...

“My wife has become a real problem. She has no respect for me as the head of the house. She insults me and she even went as far as stretching her hand to beat me. I’ve lost my self confidence. Her words hurt so much and she refuses to talk through our problems. Please tell me what I can do.”

Robertson’s ensuing response is what’s brewing controversy. Right Wing Watch has the video from the Christian Broadcasting Network.

“Well you could become a Muslim and you could beat her...You can’t divorce her according to the scripture so I say move to Saudi Arabia!”

Robertson’s tone implies he may be joking. Regardless, the comments are not sitting well with other television hosts. Current TV’s Bill Press mocked Robertson on his morning radio show.

“Wait, she’s always wrong and I’m always right cause I’m the man. That’s what the Bible says. That’s what Jesus says. That guy is absolutely looney tunes.”

This certainly isn’t the first time Robertson has made controversial remarks.

Newser.com reports he’s made comments on everything and everyone from Peyton Manning to oral sex to Alzheimers... even mac and cheese.

Some Christians aren’t happy with him either. A writer for the Christian blog Caffeinated Thoughts says it’s time for Robertson to leave the airwaves.

“Robertson has demonstrated an increasing inability to speak coherently and biblically on cultural issues.  It’s time for him to step down, and I would hope he and the Christian Broadcast Network realize that as well.”

Neither Robertson nor the CBN have commented on or clarified his remarks.
