“All of the folks there standing outside the yellow tape has already been put up. … We’re assuming some of those folks may be parents trying to find out exactly what's going on.” (Via HLN)

The attack happened at Spring High School in North Houston around 7a.m. Three individuals have been taken into custody for questioning — (Via ABC)

Sixteen-year-old Joshua Broussard was confirmed dead at the scene.

Father: “He was just trying to be at school today.”

Aunt: “This was random.” (Via KPRC)

Frustrated and anxious parents waited for updates from the School District and Sheriff’s Department — who were originally only alerting the parents of students involved. (Via KTRK)

Parent 1: “I feel as though there is no protection for our kids. Anybody can get through that …”

Parent 2: “There was someone there that he didn’t know. … I said ‘What happened?’ and he said ‘I couldn’t stop it. There’s nothing I could do.’” (Via KHOU)

KRIV reports the school and district have had security concerns in the past, and parents had pulled students from Spring High School because of gang concerns.

“In 2011, there was a fight at de-caney high school where several students were hurt ... In 2007, the father of a girl who attends Spring was arrested after he stabbed a student.”

The police have not yet released any information on the other victims or suspects. The other students have been released to their parents.
