“Is he is in or out? Reports are swirling that Charlie Sheen could be leaving his hit sitcom ‘Two and a Half Men.’ People magazine says he’s telling friends he won’t be back for the eighth season.”
With that announcement, millions of Sheen fans shed tears and hours of sleep wondering — now who will deliver groaners about dating women — and sleeping with women every week? HLN’s AJ Hammer explains why he’s looking to make an exit.
“Charlie’s just done, that he’s quietly telling his friends he’s not coming back — that leaving is 100 percent his idea.... Sheen now wants to take on some new challenges, do more movies and he doesn’t always get the chance to do that while the TV show is on hiatus.”
TV’s top-rated comedy regularly gets panned by critics, but pulls in tons of viewers. The blog Dlisted reminds viewers of Sheen’s recent problems — and consoles overwrought fans.
“…[H]e spent some time in rehab for his addiction to anything illegal that comes in a plastic bag. …This news might make a few memaws who watch this show cry into their bag of Werther's Originals (MOM, GET YOURSELF TOGETHER!)”
An insider talked to Digital Spy about Sheen’s hard time and hard feelings on the set.
“Sheen is an ‘insurance liability…He'd probably have a hard time getting other roles because things aren't exactly stable with Charlie. He already cost 'Two And A Half Men' some big money when they had to stop production so he could go to rehab.’"
But according to gossip hounds from TMZ and E! Online, Charlie boy is probably full of it.
E! Online: “Come on people, do you really think he wants to leave ‘Two and a Half Men?’ He makes like a gajillion dollars from the show. The show is a huge hit. ...Charlie is doing this just to do some bargaining for some more money.”
TMZ: “We know that he makes around $825,000 an episode. (WHAT?) And I guess he’s asking for $1.5 million per episode.”
So do you think Sheen looking for dough — or the door?
