Officers Rescue Terrified Sloth Stranded On Busy Highway In Ecuador

The Transit Commission of Ecuador took on a rather unusual task when workers spotted a sloth stranded on a busy highway.

Why did the sloth cross the road? We're not sure.

But thanks to some kind officers in Los Rios, Ecuador, this one made it across safely.

While driving down a busy highway, the Transit Authority of Ecuador found the sloth clinging to a traffic median.

Luckily, officers were able to rescue it.

CNN translated what the agency said on Facebook: "We want to let you know the sloth was rescued and taken by our officers to a doctor, who said the sloth was in good [condition] to be returned to its habitat."
