Problem is you all do not understand exactly what the public option is....So my little fox and friends...let me explain
..the public option is what ALL federal employees currently enjoy, but now it would be give to the PUBLIC as an OPTION...The government DOES NOT FUND THIS the money comes for the PREMIUMS that are paid in to the providers. Exceptions are to this...NO DENIAL FOR PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS, ..NO CO-PAY..ROUTINE MAMMOGRAMS, COLONOSCOPYS ETC. COVERED AT NO COST..co pays for doctors and hospital vary from plan to plan..there are several plans to choose from...what is the problem with all of you not understanding this? Death panels? Oh please give it a rest already. There is a provision in Medicare part D that provides for doctors and patients to discuss medical alternatives, and LIFE SUSTAINING measures. this consultation is covered without any additional cost to the patient. Come on people read please....Stop drinking the stupid juice and all you out there who are trying to scare everyone...what goes around comes around.

Obama is sticking to his "ideology" and is going forward with the "public option" plan...it's a wolf in sheeps clothing and IT WON'T WORK!! I'm an American first...continue to write your Congressman and let them know...WE THE PEOPLE are in charge...not them!! We don't want it!!!

I think Obama needs to know when to fold his cards! His words "Our country is bankrupt." Since that is the case quit moving us into Socialism! He needs to start taking responsibility for his actions, start apologizing for this new debt, and send all of his CZARS home because they are not CONSTITUTIONAL! Gee, maybe even produce a real birth certificate.

Funny how Congress produces five different bills. Each one was utter crap and when people had time to read and review those bills, then the authors of those bills point accusations of "misinformation." Any bill needs to address the root causes: High malpractice insurance premiums, excessive litigation, low supply of doctors and nurses, and the extremely high cost of medical education (i.e. med school & nursing school). Address those root causes and we'll solve much of our health care problems. There is NO health care "crisis." That's just alarmist salesmanship.

Any bill that has more government involvement in our healthcare is a bad one. Our gov. should not be in the housing industry buying up homes or in the auto industry dictating which cars people should buy. The current President is spending more than any other administration and it makes me sick!! Less government is the answer, especially when it comes to something as important as healthcare.

There has been no misinformation because the bill that was produced in the house was given out. Many opponents just read from the bill. Sure there wasn't a "death panal" description; however, the implications were there. The fact of the matter is that the question isn't will Obama pull the plug on grandma, the question rather is, will he even plug her in, in the first place? I believe that Obama has spent all of his political capital on his stimulus and the outcry from both the independents and republicans has little to do with healthcare, but the governmental take over of several aspects of the American economy. The only lie about healthcare has been the 47 million so called uninsured people. The only truth about this debate is the fact that we do need reform, just not as radical or as drastic. Liberals refuse to compromise and instead of listening to the American people they are wanting to ram it down our throats. I believe Obama is truly stuck between a hard rock and a hard place. Either he pleases the radical left and alienates the conservative demoncrats, or he inrages the radical left to please the blue dogs. Regardless, 2010 will be a turning point for the democratic party.

I agree--I believe Obama has more success/influence than Congress really does at this point. But you have to commend the President and his administration for the large amount of time and numerous speeches, press conferences, etc. that he has held to try and clarify things for the public.
It's true. With people hopping on to online social/news sites, blogs, and twitter with whatever opinions they have at all times of day, things get jumbled. And there has certainly been a lot of false truths and misinformation moved around with regard to the healthcare reform debate.

Turning health care reform over to Congress, with its lower approval ratings and all, might not have been the most strategic move on Obamas part. Its just led to confusion, disinformation and a drop in supporters. But who knows, maybe the speech will help. Still, itll be tough.

I think this is a final effort to explain the details of the plan to the public. A chance to get the last word in a debate that has been hijacked by disinformation campaigns.
