The New York City nanny accused of stabbing two young children on the Upper East Side was indicted Thursday. WFFF and CNN have the story.

"50-year-old Yoselyn Ortega faces first and second degree murder charges in the deaths of 6-year-old Lucia Krim and her 2-year-old Brother Leo."

"Police say the mother came home to find the children dead in the bathtub and witnessed the nanny try to kill herself."

Police say the children’s mother came home after Ortega didn’t show up at dance class with the two children and found them stabbed in the bathtub. Ortega then stabbed herself in the neck with a kitchen knife.  The New York Times reports:

“... Ortega remains hospitalized … Her arraignment on murder charges is expected to take place via a video link to State Supreme Court in Manhattan, but has not been scheduled … Ms. Ortega was intubated and unable to speak for more than a week. She eventually told detectives that she resented the family because they always told her what to do...”

Ortega is a naturalized US citizen from the Dominican Republic. She had been the nanny for the Krim family for almost two years when the incident occurred.
