North Korea should be sanctioned for launching their "communications satellite". Even though it didn't achieve the goal of orbit, the rocket still caused international uproar and North Korea seems to consistently disregard following U.N. regulations.

meaningless paper resolutions? Im sorry to say that after 8 years and countless billions spent on bombs, troops and WMD goose chases im ready for a little bit of paper resolution.

I'm glad the rocket was somewhat of a failure, but at the same time, this is one of those things that the U.S. and the rest of the international community cannot really afford to overlook. N. Korea had been questioned on this/asked to not launch the missile and it still did. Moves like that are generally meant to communicate something to the rest of the world.

I think there should be sanctions because if the global community doesn't reinforce its guidelines they are meaningless. While lesser developed nations shouldn't be penalized for scientific advancements this one is clearly aggressive and could represent a potential threat in the future.

N. Korea is asking for trouble. Whether or not the missile made it into orbit, they are obviously testing missile for attack. It is almost as though N. Korea know that they are in the wrong, and so instead of confessing, they are claiming the missile to be a communication device. I agree with Newt Gingrich, when he says that we should have shot it down, we can't let them just continue to behave like this. Also, Japan, should have done something for themselves and not allow the missile to fly over them. It's frustrating when countries don't follow guidelines, and rules that are put in place, and it is even more frustrating when other countries almost "overlook" the wrong and do absolutely nothing about it.

North Korea should definitely be sanctioned for launching the missile. Just because it didn't work doesn't mean they didn't violate a UN Security Council resolution.

Personally I'm a little surprised the Japanese allowed this to happen. I would say they are more at risk for a N. Korean attack then the US. Yes, N. Korea is dangerous, but they don't have the means to execute anything right now. This latest failure is evidence of this fact.
