Sarah Palin wants to continue her favorite pastime -- no not politics -- reality television. KPIX in San Francisco has the story.

“Sarah Palin is talking about another reality TV show, although this one’s not quite as popular. The Hollywood Reporter says the former Alaska governor and reality producer Mark Burnett -- who of course does Survivor -- are trying to sell a series focused on Palin’s husband Todd and his career in snowmobile racing. But there’s apparently not much market for that idea, so they continue to search.”

There’s not much market for that? Who knew? MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell, apparently. He says you could have seen this one coming from Fairbanks to Anchorage.

“Now back in the good old days when Sarah Palin was lying about the possibility that she would run for president, a reality show about Todd doing anything would be an instant sale. But now the Hollywood Reporter confirms what viewers of this program knew was bound to happen: that Sarah Palin is having trouble selling another reality TV show.”

The lack of interest in the show could be due to its asking price-- estimated to be about $1 million per episode. But The Hollywood Reporter says it could also be an indication of Palin’s shrinking star power.

“[One] obstacle is Palin’s waning status as a cultural lightning rod. The former Alaska governor... burst onto the scene as the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate with a compelling personal storyline... But she has been largely under the radar since confirming that she would not seek the 2012 Republican presidential nomination...”

Although this latest venture may not work out for the Palins, Jezebel expects it won’t keep one of America’s favorite Alaskan families from trying to get back on the small screen.

“Sarah Palin and producer Mark Burnett... can't believe that America isn't interested in a show that's just like Ice Road Truckers, but with much smaller vehicles, more forced folksiness, and no real point. But don't worry about Sarah Palin, because she has plenty of other reality show ideas. Like how about a show about Willow's attempt to set a new bass fishing record, or Piper's newfound passion for scrapbooking?”

Even though no networks have agreed to purchase the show, the Palins still have another option. Vanity Fair has promised to host the series on its website.

“This blog would be willing to pay heavily for such exclusives going forward. We’d like to officially extend an offer to Todd Palin to create his show for VF.com. We are willing to pay what we think is fair based on the content of each episode; something juicy like that... could go for anywhere from $1 million to a coupon for a hug.”

Todd Palin is a four-time champion of the Tesoro Iron Dog, the world’s longest snowmobile race.
