A small step towards normalcy in Newtown, Connecticut as nearly 5,000 students return to classes today.
Everyone but the students of Sandy Hook.

“Monday all schools were closed as teachers and administrators trained with experts on how to handle the aftermath. Many parents we spoke to say kids belong back in school.”

The Shelton Patch reports police officers will be stationed at all Newtown schools Tuesday for an added measure of safety and security.

The students of Sandy Hook return to school Wednesday.
But at a different location.

“The desks, furniture and other supplies you can see here are being taken one town over to Chalk Hill Middle School. That’s where Sandy Hook students are going to start going to school probably tomorrow.”

According to the Wall Street Journal, Chalk Hill closed down in 2011.
It’s about seven miles south of the Sandy Hook building.

Officials are not sure if Sandy Hook will ever reopen as a school.
