This is Newsy Now, and here are your latest headlines.

A new twist in the political spat over President Obama’s upcoming jobs speech. A refresher-- Mr. Obama wanted to address Congress next Wednesday-- the same time as the GOP presidential candidate debate.

House Speaker John Boehner said-- that night doesn’t work for us. And now-- this.

“The President did in fact agree to move his speech to a week from today, so next Thursday, the same night that the Saints and the Packers are kicking off the season. The focus of the speech is going to be jobs and the economy but this bickering now raises even more doubt about if the two parties can agree on anything.”

In other US news, another hurricane is brewing in the Atlantic.

“Katie right now Robin, 75 mph winds and it’s going to slowly start gaining some strength later today or tonight ... It’s going to go over some warmer sea surface temperatures, lighter shear and a little more humidity in the atmosphere. In other words, gaining up to about a category 3 strength. That’s possible by about I’d say Sunday.”

In your world headlines, the attorney general of the central Syrian province of Hama has resigned. He’s the highest-level official to quit the government over its brutal crackdown on protesters.

In this video released Wednesday night-- Mohammed Adnan al-Bakkour lists many reasons for his resignation.  He says higher-ups forced him to falsify reports while government forces killed hundreds of peaceful demonstrators and buried them in mass graves.

The New York Times says this could represent a major blow to the government of Mr. Assad.

Finally in tech news, this one should sound familiar. An Apple employee took a prototype iPhone 5 to a California bar....and left it behind.

Same thing happened with the 4 last year.

Someone supposedly picked up the 5-- realized what it was...and then made a whopping 200 bucks off the device on Craigslist.

Analysts on CNBC wonder if this is some sort of weird marketing tactic.

“Maybe the company does this on purpose. I mean I hate to the conspiracy theorist but love to play that role occasionally and you’ve got to wonder if it happens two times in a row and we are talking about it...”
