19 to 31 inches of snow has shut down the Northeast.

CNN says, part of the problem came in getting the word out.

“When I flew into Harrisburg and I went to the rental car counter, and I said, I need a four wheel drive, and he said, why?  I said because there’s gonna be a foot of snow here, and he said, naw it’s gonna be two to four.  So the word didn’t get out on Friday when the models changed.”

Ten American forces are among more than a dozen killed in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan.

The attack comes just days before international coalition forces meet to discuss the security operation.

NBC has more.

“An SUV laden with explosives rammed into a military armored bus carrying US and NATO troops as well as civilians.”

“The violence comes as the US and NATO are planning for their 2014 drawdown.”

GOP Presidential front-runner Herman Cain is denying allegations of sexual harassment in his past.

CBS News has details.

“Now the allegations are that he engaged in improper conduct when he was head of the national restaurant association.  we don’t know who the accusers are, and they are anonymous in the Politico piece, and they say Cain used improper language and physical gestures but there was no touching.”

UNESCO -- the United Nation’s cultural body is ready to formally accept the Palestinian state into its membership. France 24 reports, that is despite strong opposition from the U.S. and Israel.

“A yes vote will come with harsh financial consequences for UNESCO.  Under US law, Palestinians admission into UNESCO would trigger a cutoff in funding that accounts for 22 percent of ithe agency’s budget.  Israel is likely to follow suit which would cut off another three percent of UNESCO’s budget.”

How do you lose money -- while making money? The Federal Reserve has apparently figured out how to. ABC News investigates.

“Made of manganese brass, they cost 32 cents to make. The mint can make 1.8 million a day. Do the math, that’s almost 600 thousand dollars a day.  Because nobody uses these things, most go directly into storage.”
