In politics -- more information is revealed about Herman Cain’s alleged sexual misconduct. The AP is reporting yet another woman has come forward with new allegations against the GOP Candidate. Cain’s camp says the Perry campaign is fueling the story. Fox News sorts through this campaign trial soap opera.
“He says a campaign advisor leaked the stories to the press but governor Rick Perry says wasn't me. His campaign blaming Mitt Romney for the reports! Meantime, a third woman has just stepped forward saying she, too, felt harassed while working for Cain in the past.”
To Oakland -- where ‘Occupy’ protesters clash with police downtown following a day of peaceful protests. ABC News was live at the scene.
REPORTER: “Overnight, it was exactly what so many feared. Protesters and police clashing again.”
POLICE: “You are commanded to leave this area immediately.”
REPORTER: “There was tear gas and explosions. Protesters help a man shot with a rubber bullet. Then, they're fired on with tear gas.”
Near Chicago -- a freight train derails and bursts into flames. HLN explains the situation.
“This is about 35 miles outside Chicago. Several of the tankers were carrying potentially dangerous chemicals. It's not known yet if the tankers are -- if those tankers are on fire. I'm having a hard time making out that picture. Now there are no reports of any injuries or evacuations...”
Overseas the Arab League is wondering if its plan for peace in Syria can stop the violence from President Bashar al-Assad’s forces. Here’s PBS News.
“The Arab League is trying to put Assad into dilemmas and which his choices... His choices: is he going to pull back his security forces from the streets, is he going to stop the militias, is he going to let people out of jail... we seriously doubt this. We don’t see how he can do this and remain in power.”
Finally in tech news -- Apple broke its silence on Wednesday, admitting there is a battery bug related to its iOS5 update.
ZDNet reports the Cupertino company is “seeding a minor update to developers, iOS 5.0.1, which amongst other things will address the battery life issue.” But it might not be enough for Apple’s following, many are angered the update “will take weeks”, while they struggle to get more than 12 hours out of their iPhones in a single day.
