In world news, global markets slide after news of a Greek referendum on austerity measures.
It’s widely believed the Greek people will not support the moves necessary to fix Greece’s ailing economic conditions.

The fallout continues after passengers aboard a JetBlue airline were forced to sit without food, water or working restrooms for seven hours.

More than a year after the FBI busted a Russian spy ring, the bureau is releasing videos, documents, and photographs from the sting. ITN News says its a rare glimpse into how the FBI managed to catch Anna Chapman and nine other spies last year.
“This is footage released by the FBI showing Russian spies meeting and exchanging information between their handlers. The video includes accused spy Anna Chapman meeting with an undercover FBI agent -- a meeting which may have spooked her into thinking her identity had been compromised.”
Halloween celebrations turn violent in New Orleans. Gunfire erupted at four separate celebrations leaving two dead and 13 others wounded. WWL-TV reports from the scene.
ANCHOR: “15 people shot in all, 13 of those wounded. Mike Hoss is on the scene of the first shooting...”
REPORTER: “It was here Bourbon Street just after midnight last night that a 25-year-old man was shot and killed and several others wounded in what eyewitnesses are calling a ‘hailstorm’ of bullets.”
Finally, in sports, the San Diego Chargers fumbled away the game on Monday Night Football.
With less than a minute to go in regulation, Chargers QB Phillip Rivers had only to run out the clock to set up the game winning field goal.
Instead, he fumbled. And the Chiefs kicked the game winning field goal in overtime.
ESPN analysts say, this one will live in infamy.
“The only way you lose that game is by doing that, and that’s something you’ve been working on since you were 12 years old. It’s inexplicable. It hurts.”
