Iran is testing 14 missiles. Some of them---could hit U.S. bases in the Middle East. An Iranian general says the country determined the missile range according to where American bases are in the region. Fox News reports on the scare.
“They are able to fuel and launch the missiles now, underground, and yesterday the Iran Revolutionary Guard in charge of their missiles program announced they have new technology, and underground missile silo that allows them to fuel and launch these missiles underground.”
France’s Christine Largarde is to become IMF chief after the U.S., Russia and Brazil backed her candidacy. CNN has more on the Largarde’s background.
“In 2009, Forbes Magazine rated her as the 17th most powerful woman in the world. The same year, the Financial Times labeled her the best financial minister in Europe. She is the French woman who once ran an American lawfirm, and the lawyer who runs an even larger French economy.”
Home prices on the rise? The Case-Schiller Index says prices actually rose 0.7 percent from March to April of this year. But, are the numbers really anything to ‘go home about?’ Here’s CNBC.
“Home prices always rise in the spring because of the mix of homes selling. Families buy homes in the spring. They buy larger, more expensive move-up homes. That’s why you should always compare prices year over year.”
From homes---to mice. A new study reports BPA -- found in many commercial plastics -- makes male mice--less attractive. So--does too much BPA make human men less sexy? No one knows for sure -- but Dr. Alan Greene did say there’s cause for concern.
Greene: “Now they say there is some reason for concern about this, and they’re doing a big effort to find out the extent of the concern and have given guidelines on how to reduce BPA exposure for us.”
To tech news---it’s the battle of the apps. Microsoft kicked off the launch of Office 365 in New York. CEO Steve Ballmer calls it quote- “where Office meets the cloud.” But the question is - did Microsoft roll out the product too late? Here’s Bloomberg.
“Analysts say that it could be a while before Office 365 has an impact, but what it does do is take their products and open them to another market and bring them into the cloud, which many people say is late to the game.”
