This is Newsy Now, and here are your latest headlines. The house arrest for Dominique Strauss-Kahn---is over. This after several news outlets report his accuser presented inconsistent stories to prosecutors.  Here’s MSNBC.

“If she lied about that, what else is she lying about? That is the question. Prosecutors still have the charges against Dominique Strauss-Kahn still standing.”

In another court case shocker --- a judge in the Casey Anthony case has adjourned on an indefinite recess. That amidst a new controversy--Defense Attorney Jose Baez (By-ez) says the prosecution has with-held some key information from him -- and he’s crying foul.

Baez “New opinions are being asked to render in this case which are not included in any reports. I asked if they had a report written on the new stuff. I was told, no. I asked again this morning if they were going to issue a report and the answer was no."

In Europe--Greece is recalling a flotilla headed toward Gaza to deliver aid to Palestine. Nine vessels left the Greek harbor bound for Israel’s blockade. Here’s Russia Today.

“Despite last year’s debacle that saw nine activists killed and 40 more wounded, the Israeli government has vowed to continue intercepting ships proceeding to enter Gaza’s shore for security reasons.”

British union workers hit the streets of London to protest pensions for a second day. Police arrested 35 people. Officials say only about 2 in 10 civil servants participated. Fox News explains why protesters took to the streets.

“They were protesting the Conservative-led government’s austerity plans. Schools were the hardest  with 11,000 partially or completely closed.”

In tech news --- Google - gets outbid. Apple, Microsoft, and others will pay $4.5 billion together for Nortel Network’s assets. The companies will now control Nortel’s technology for phones and computers. Here’s Bloomberg’s Dominic Chu.

Dominic: “$4.5 billion the ultimate price tag. That is five times more than the initial opening bid that Google made to take the 6000 patents over. There were trying to go after these because of patent litigation is in the forefront for technology.”
