In U.S. politics — GOP presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann is losing one of her top Iowa campaign staffers... to another GOP candidate. Here’s MSNBC.

“Michele Bachmann’s Iowa chairman Kent Sorensen, who was literally at her side at an event yesterday afternoon, jumped ship and joined Ron Paul’s campaign later that day. Sorenson made a surprise appearance at a Paul event in Des Moines last night...

Sorenson: “We’re going to take Ron Paul, all the way to the White House, 2012.”

And in world news — it’s official: Kim Jong-un is now the ‘supreme leader’ of the North Korean regime.

The announcement came from the head of the country’s parliament, during a memorial dedicated to the late leader, Kim Jong-il. Fox News explains what’s next for the new leader.

“Now, the young man has got to run the place and that is no easy task. All indications the country will be run by a committee, at least for the next couple of years. Kim Jong-un’s aunt and uncle should play a key role, as well as other other civilian and military officials --  all of them were up on the dais today.”

Still in world news — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez hints the U.S. may have had a hand in the cases of cancer affecting Latin American presidents. You heard us right. Here’s CNN.

HALA GORANI: “You know whenever anyone starts a line with ‘I don’t wanna make any reckless accusations...’ you know that they’re going that they’re going to make a reckless accusation!”

ZAIN VERJEE: “He’s saying five former and present Latin American presidents have cancer … So Hugo Chavez is saying, this cannot be a coincidence! He goes, ‘What if the U.S. has developed a technology to induce cancer and nobody knows about it?’”

And finally, in health news — Build-a-Bear workshop is recalling some of its teddy bears because of a possible choking hazard. Here’s WBFF with more.

“Build-a-Bear is recalling 300,000 ‘Colorful Hearts’ teddy bears. They say the eyes on the bears are a choking hazard and so far -- no injuries have been reported but if you have one of the bears, you can return it to any Build-a-Bear store and you can then receive a coupon.”
