“You will lose some votes in the house. On the right, a lot of conservatives are saying there are no tax increases in the first round, but it creates a super committee, and there are no guarantees there won’t be revenue increases or tax increases in the second round.”
In world news---officials say Anders Breivik shopped online for bomb-making materials. His last purchase---came just three months ago. He bought things from British traders to use in the killings.
So what exactly did Breivik buy? Here’s Fox News.
“According to Britain’s Sunday Telegraph, he used Ebay to purchase sulfur powder, a respirator, and a hazmat suit. It’s noted he mentioned Ebay repeatedly in his manfesto, writing Ebay is your friend.”
Yemeni war planes have killed 13 militants in the southern part of the country. Officials say the people killed were Islamist militants linked to al-Qaida. Even though recent reports suggest al-Qaida’s losing power, the National Security Agency says---it’s still well alive.
“We must actually redouble our efforts and as the president has said al-Qaida is on the path to defeat but we have to look at that thread in all of its various forms not only in the tribal regions of Yemen, but in the Foxtrot and Pakistan.”
Libyan rebels arrest men in their own ranks--reportedly fighting for Muammar Gaddafi in Benghazi. Here’s Al Jazeera with the latest.
“The fighting lasted for six hours and left four opposition men dead. More than 30 pro Gaddafi men were captured. Documents and flags were found in the building linking them to the Libyan regime.”
