All three Dougherty fugitives---are now in custody. Colorado State Patrol says the siblings’ car crashed after a high-speed chase. One member of the gang fled on foot---but was later arrested. Here’s HLN.
“We’re hearing all three have been caught near Walzenburg, Colorado, after a high-speed chase. Ryan, 21, Lee-Grace, 29, Dylan 26, the Dougherty siblings, the Dougherty gang. The three are accused of firing 20 rounds at a Florida police officer trying to make a stop on them after going 100 miles per hour in the Florida area.”
In business news--stocks fell again in early trading. Even though the Federal Reserve kept interest rates low-- the Dow dropped more than 400 points. It soared nearly 500 points Tuesday.
CNBC has tips for how to invest in the roller-coaster market.
“If an investor really can’t handle the volatility they’ve seen over the last couple of weeks, they need to pare back the risk in their portfolio. But clearly, you look at which sectors bounce the most yesterday, the most upside is going to be immediately after the big down day.”
In England-- police have arrested more than 1,000 protesters. With 16,000 officers on the streets of London---the violence there has stopped-- but in other areas---violence has escalated. Here’s London’s Mayor Boris Johnson.
“But clearly last night, we had a much better night in London. I think police did a very good job, and it’s very important that we keep that up. I don’t think we can be remotely complacent with last night in the event of what’s happened the last four days. The police did much better last night.”
In other world news-- NATO says an air strike killed the man who shot down a Chinook helicopter. The chopper had American troops on board, including Seal Team 6 members.
The strike also reportedly killed the Taliban leader in the area. Fox News has more.
“General John Allen the top commander here in Afghanistan said today in a press conference that the man the military believes was responsible for bringing down the Chinook helicopter on Saturday morning was killed in a precision air strike over the weekend by F16 fighter jets. General Allen also did say that while he was killed he was not the intended target of the raid.”
Finally in tech news---Anonymous says it will attack Facebook. The web hacker says it will completely destroy Facebook on November 5. Anonymous claims the network misuses personal information on its website. Here’s CNN.
“If you find yourself not able to update your status, Anonymous might be to blame. The hacker group is vowing to kill Facebook come November 5th. Even if you delete all your account, all your information stays on Facebook, Anonymous says. Facebook is not commenting on the alleged plot.”
