NBC is creating major drama after overhauling its schedule for midseason. Hulu’s ‘The Morning After’ catches us up on all the changes.

“Now it wasn’t shocking that ‘Whitney’ is moving to Wednesday nights alongside its blonde doppelganger ‘Are You There, Chelsea?’ And it wasn’t shocking that ‘Up All Night’ will be taking ‘Whitney’s play on Thursdays where it always belonged. What was shocking was that ‘Community’ was nowhere to be found, and its stars agreed taking to Twitter with their confusion. But if we can offer any consolation to fans, it’s that if the cult-favorite is canceled, they can still look forward to the potential possibility of there maybe being a movie.”

Drama ‘Prime Suspect’ joins ‘Community’ in the possibly-canceled category. While NBC didn’t give a reason for pulling the shows, Entertainment Weekly has an idea.

“NBC is in big trouble generally because its new fall shows have either been watched with a minimum of enthusiasm or by virtually no one. More specifically, NBC is in big trouble … [because] it has too many shows, of varying quality, which don’t do well in the ratings.”

But Business Insider argues NBC should take a history lesson before canning ‘Community’ for good.

“Nobody wants to be the guy who sent ‘Freaks and Geeks’ or ‘Arrested Development’ to its grave.”

And the guys at We Got This Covered say ratings shouldn’t matter anymore, especially with no way to accurately count viewers.

“This isn’t because the show isn’t good, because ‘Community’ is by far one of the best (if not THE best) comedies on TV right now … most people watch the show online, as it is available on Hulu soon after it airs...”

But The Hollywood Reporter suggests this is an opportunity for NBC to bounce back.

“This is the point where I remind you that television is a business, slip the reverend 20 bucks and start this funeral up … The point is, NBC is in the unique position – last place – to do whatever the hell it wants. But it needs to be a lot more creative than trying what every other network executive has tried in the past.”
