Breaking news...
Multiple media outlets are reporting ousted Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has been captured -- and killed.
Those outlets are displaying a graphic picture of Gaddafi -- bloodied and beaten.

The Guardian quotes UK Channel 4's Lindsey Hilsum as she tweeted the reaction in Tripoli.

“Great cries of Allah Akbar as tv shows picture of what looks like dead #Gadaffi. People going crazy.”

Gaddafi’s fall comes after a seven month civil war led by a group called the National Transitional Council -- a coalition of tribal and factional groups seeking to replace the 42-year dictator.
Early this morning -- the NTC launched its final assault on Gaddafi’s stronghold of Sirte.
CNN has that video...

“There are still some small pockets of resistance that they’re going around now trying to finally flush out the last remaining fighters, but essentially they have managed to push the front line right into district 2. We’ve been there all last week seeing how they’ve been pinned down under sniper fire, unable to get into that area. Now they have been able to get into that area and it looks like now this is basically just going to be sort of a mopping up exercise.”

CNN has reaction from The U.S. State Department ….

“The State Department can't confirm reports about the capture or killing of Moammar Gadhafi...NATO said its aircraft struck two pro-Gadhafi military vehicles in the Sirte vicinity Thursday...”

TimesLive reports -- on the reaction in Libya....

“Celebrations erupted in towns across Libya as news spread that the autocrat who ruled the country with an iron fist for 40-plus years was finally in custody.”

Again -- multiple reports -- and pictures of the killing of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
