The New York Times reports close to 10 more alleged victims have come forward with child sex abuse accusations against former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky .
The report comes just after Sandusky spoke out for the first time Monday--claiming his innocence against all charges. On Tuesday, Sandusky’s attorney appeared on The Today Show…
“What’s happening now in my opinion is we have a bunch of people who have read the allegations, realize that there’s a large university involved and there may be a lot of money involved and lawsuits that are certainly come and until we sort through these new allegations, we have absolutely no idea if they are authentic or not.”
Sandusky was arrested more than a week ago on 40 counts of child sex abuse. With Tuesday’s report of new allegations -- Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush says he hopes that if there are any more victims, they will speak out.
“The New York Times reports that 10 more victims have come forward, at least that’s happening, at least they’re not afraid, at least they are coming forward in this moment, I hope every one of them does come forward and feels the courage to do it.”
CNN says this could be the tip of the icerberg -- that it’s impossible to know how many children Sandusky may have abused.
“We've heard anywhere from 10 to 12 potential victims coming forward with phone calls. This is an active grand jury investigation. (FLASH) You look at the timeline, Wolf, second mile charitable foundation was founded in 1977. First allegation, 1994. 17-year window. Then '94 to 2008 when Sandusky informs the group he's under investigation. We shudder to think how many more victims could be out there.”
