Remember this viral video that became a sensation during the summer?
“Hey Mila, it’s Sgt. Moore, but you can call me Scott. I just wanted to take a moment out of my day to invite you to the Marine Corps Ball on Nov. 18 in Greenville, North Carolina with yours truly.”
Well, more than 4 million YouTube hits later-- Marine Corps Sgt. Scott Moore’s wish came true. Actress Mila Kunis escorted him to the Marine Corps Ball. On Good Morning America-- Sgt. Moore told the world how his dream date went.
ROBIN ROBERTS: “Was it everything you were hoping, expecting, wanting?”
SGT. MOORE: “It was a blast. It was a great time. So, yes, it exceeded my expectations.”
True to her word-- Kunis was picked up by Moore in a sleek black dress at around 5:30. The couple danced to ‘The Time of Your Life,’ from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. But as Sgt. Moore told The Early Show-- the night wasn’t about the glitz and glamour.
“Honestly there wasn’t a whole lot of dancing. It was really important for me to invite her and show her all the Marines, my friends and some of the guys who were wounded out there. I wanted to introduce her to a lot of really good people.”
Though he might have brought ‘sexy’ to the ball-- a blogger for the LA Times tells us Sgt. Moore had a special shout-out to the one who originally brought ‘sexy back’ for making his night a reality.
“Moore is a different kind of American hero for starting this year's wave of celebrity invites to the USMC's big night, but he didn't do it alone. He credited "wingmen," Justin Timberlake and Dan Lamothe of the Military Times for their help getting his invitation to Kunis.”
Timberlake attended a Marine Corps event earlier in the month with Corporal Kelsey De Santis. He raved about the experience on his blog. TIME Magazine’s Megan Gibson says we want to know what Kunis thought of the date.
“Don’t leave us hanging, Mila. After all, J.T. was quick to blog about his Marine Corps Ball experience. We think you should do him one better and post a YouTube account of your evening. As Timberlake once noted, “you need to do it for your country.”
Once the clock struck midnight-- Sgt. Moore said the night did not end with a kiss. But the two did promise to keep in touch.
