Hello I’m Charlotte Bellis and you’re watching Newsy.com

U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama meets the Queen of England for the first time, and the media have a variety of speculations about the visit.

CNN predicts the Queen and Michelle will be fast friends.

“What the queen really likes is authentic women. She likes women who are strong, unpretentious, and into their family. She’ll love the fact that Michelle Obama was filmed digging her vegetable garden. That is very queen-like.” (CNN)

But the Today Show suggests Michelle isn’t the type of woman England would adore:

“She is absolutely terrifying for the British because the British like their women to be subdued and doey eyed and sort of modest and soft spoken. I mean, princess Di. And here comes this woman who is in your face-- everything about her says I¹m confident, I know what I want, I can do anything." (NBC's Today Show)

CNN’s Anderson Cooper talked with an etiquette expert who offered these suggestions:

“…You stop eating when the Queen does. I would personally take a few sips of tea, take a cookie and not touch it because she’s going to ask a question.” (CNN)

The L.A. Times and Huffington Post debated whether the often sleeveless Michelle will wear long sleeves when meeting the conservative Queen.

USA Today mocks this kind of coverage, saying:

“What will she do, whom will she meet, what will she wear? When she accompanies her husband to Buckingham Palace to meet Queen Elizabeth II on Wednesday, will she be — gasp! — sleeveless?” (USA Today)

So what do you think about the press’s coverage of Michelle and the Queen? Should she wear sleeves-- and do you care whether she does or not?
